Want to see what the Springs of the future might look like?

Yolanda Solano from the Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department will be on hand at this month’s meeting to give an update on the progress of the Springs Specific Plan. Attendees will be able to get an understanding of the scale and scope of the project, its timing, its process, where they can go to get all the details, and, finally, how they can contribute in all the upcoming meetings. The plan is scheduled to be finalized in the coming months and community input is still needed.

Location: Sonoma Springs Community Hall, 18627 Sonoma Hwy, in the Springs.

The meeting is open to the public and anyone with an interest in the Springs is welcome to attend and weigh in on issues that matter to them. Translation services will be provided.

SCA’s mission is to serve as a hub of communication and information affecting the interests and well-being of all people who live in, serve, or conduct business within the “Springs” neighborhoods of El Verano, Boyes Hot Springs, Fetters Hot Springs and Agua Caliente. The goals of the alliance include economic development; environmental safety, beauty and preservation; traffic and roadway issues; health; community outreach and hospitality. Due to the administrative costs of maintaining the alliance donations are gratefully accepted.

Springs Community Meeting – Thursday, January 18, 7:00 pm, Booker Hall/La Luz Community Center

The public is invited to the monthly meeting of the Springs Community Alliance on Thursday, January 18, at 7:00 pm at La Luz Center, 17560 Greger Street in the Springs.

The January agenda will feature 1st District Supervisor Susan Gorin who will provide brief updates on County re-organization in response to the October firestorms – forming task forces on watersheds, housing rebuilding, debris cleanup, and economic recovery.  Supervisor Gorin will also continue community discussions on The Springs Specific Plan, formation of a Municipal Advisory Councils in the Springs and Glen Ellen and other issues important for El Verano, Fetters Hot Springs, Boyes Hot Springs and Agua Caliente.

The SCA Executive Committee will also be providing updates on some of their projects.
