Dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Springs Community
The By-laws of the Springs Community Alliance state the following with regard to the nomination and election of Executive Committee officers:
Section 3 Elections/Nominations/Terms: Executive Committee officers shall be elected annually by a majority vote of the membership in attendance at a public meeting announced for that purpose. Committee members will serve a one-year term from Jan-Dec. The Executive Committee may recommend a slate of officers for the following year at the membership meeting in Oct. Nominations may also be made from the floor at the Oct meeting. The elections will be held at the following meeting in Nov.
The current Executive Committee has recommended the following slate of officers:
Veronica Napoles, Chair;
Jennifer Gray Thompson, Vice Chair;
Bill Hoban, Secretary; and
AnnMarie Miller, Treasurer.
The name of JoAnn Lenhardt was proposed for the Committee Member-At-Large position.
It was also agreed that additional nominations will be accepted until the election to be held on January 22, 2020. Nominations should be submitted by email to springscommunityalliance@gmail.com no later than 12:00 Noon on January 22, 2020.
Note that “Executive Committee officers shall be elected annually by a majority vote of the membership”. The SCA By-Laws define membership as follow:
Article 5 – Membership
Section 1 Membership is open to individuals who meet one of the descriptions stated in the SCA purpose statement.
Article 2, Section 1 The purpose of SCA is to represent the interests and well being of persons, non-profit organizations and/or business owners/operators who live in, serve, or conduct business within the four neighborhoods in Sonoma Valley known as El Verano, Boyes Hot Springs, Fetters Hot Springs and Agua Caliente.(hereafter referred to as the “Springs”.
Section 2 Membership is also verified by the payment of annual dues in the amount of $5.
Section 3 Only paid members can vote at general meetings.
Section 4 Voting decisions shall be based on majority.
Section 5 Non-voting members are welcome to attend and participate at all meetings.”
The SCA has not previously implemented a membership program but is now accepting applications for membership. See attached membership applications in English and Spanish.

For those who may be wondering whatever happened to the Springs Community Alliance – we’re back – and in a big way.
Come and find out what all the fuss is about on Wednesday, December 4, 6:30 pm at the Springs Community Hall, 18627 Sonoma Hwy, in the Springs. Bring a holiday dish to share.
The program will begin at 7:00 when we will update the community on the latest developments in the Springs. We will also introduce the new leadership slate that the SCA Executive Committee is recommending for 2020. That slate incudes Veronica Napoles, Chair; Jennifer Gray Thompson, Vice Chair; Bill Hoban, Secretary; and AnnMarie Miller, Treasurer. Those in attendance will be invited to cast their vote for the new slate of officers.
Everyone is welcome! Meetings are held at the Springs Community Hall located at 18627 Sonoma Highway.
To celebrate the changes as well as identify the challenges and opportunities for the Springs that lie ahead.

Potluck begins at 6:30 pm, program will begin at 7:00 pm with a recap of the positive developments in the Springs over the past few years. Followed by an open discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing our communities. This is an opportunity for attendees to indicate their interest to serve on any of the working groups that will be formed to address the opportunities.

March 26, 2019
The seven council members, the area they represent and the duration of their terms, are: Maite Iturri, representing schools and El Verano (2 year seat); Ryan Lely, representing Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission and Boyes Hot Springs (2 year seat); Omar Paz, representing businesses/nonprofits and Boyes Hot Springs (3 year seat); Ellen Conlan, at large representing Fetters/Agua Caliente (3 year seat); Avram Goldman, at-large representing Fetters/Agua Caliente (3 year seat); Iris Lombard, at-large representing Boyes Hot Springs (2 year seat); and Raymond Willett, at-large representing Fetters/Agua Caliente (3 year seat).
The two alternates selected were Robyn Anderson, representing Fetters/Agua Caliente (3 year seat); and John Wheatley, representing El Verano (2 year seat).
Ryan Lely to serve as chair of the Springs MAC and Maite Iturri to serve as vice chair of the Springs MAC for its first year.
